Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 T chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp coriander powder
- 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 13oz can black beans
- 1/2 C chicken broth
- 6 Siete Tortillas
- Siete Cheese Sauce
- hot sauce of choice
- lettuce, roughly chopped
- cilantro, roughly chopped
- 2 avocados, sliced
- 1/4 C avocado oil
Instructions
- In a large sauté pan on medium heat, add the ground beef and break it up into small pieces.
- Add the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, coriander, crushed red pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon sea salt. Mix the meat thoroughly and continue cooking until no pink remains.
- In a small saucepan add the black beans, chicken broth, and 1/2 teaspoon sea salt. Bring the mixture to a boil and use a potato masher to mash the beans, they should be fairly smooth but still have a few chunks. Once mashed, cook for 2-3 minutes, and remove from the heat.
- In a large skillet on medium heat add the avocado oil. Once the oil is hot, place the tortillas in the oil one at a time. Fry each side until golden brown and crispy. Place the tortilla on a cooling rack to drain any excess oil and repeat until all the tortillas are fried.
- Assemble the tostadas by smearing the tortillas with the beans, adding the ground beef, and topping with lettuce, Siete cheese sauce, hot sauce of choice, cilantro, and avocado.
- Enjoy!
