Dairy-Free Onion Dip

Ingredients
- 2 T ghee
- 1 large sweet onion, small dice
- 1 T + 1 tsp coconut aminos
- 1 C dairy-free sour cream (check ingredients if doing Whole30)
- 1/2 C mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a large sauté pan on medium-low heat, add the ghee. Once it’s melted, add the onion and sea salt. Stirring occasionally, sauté the onions until they caramelize and are golden brown, about 20 minutes.
- Add 1 tablespoon of coconut aminos to the onions and stir everything together. Remove the pan from the heat to let the onions cool.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the sour cream, mayonnaise, pepper, and 1 teaspoon of coconut aminos until the mixture is smooth.
- When the onions are cool, add them to the sour cream mixture and whisk to combine everything thoroughly.
- Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours to set up. Serve with sliced veggie and/or chips.
